Changes to GOJO Hand Soap and Purell Hand Sanitiser

Date: 25-08-2020

As you are aware, demand for hand soap and hand sanitiser has significantly increased over the past six months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, manufacturers have been unable to keep up with demand resulting in stock shortages.

TBC Distribution is pleased to advise that GOJO Industries are streamlining their manufacturing to optimise machine capacity in an attempt to meet the new global demand. Whilst this does not guarantee stock availability, it is certainly a step in the right direction as we adjust to our new way of living.

In order for GOJO Industries to streamline manufacturing, certain products will be replaced with a new product. To summarise:

  • Pricing will not change
  • Product name will change
  • Product codes will not change in our system however they will change on the product itself
  • Product fragrance will change for select products, e.g. fragrance free
  • Product appearance will likely change, e.g. colour
  • Some gel hand sanitisers will be replaced with a foam version
  • Antibacterial hand soap will only be available in the 1250mL size

Please hit download below for a list of the product changes which will be rolled out over the coming months.

New antiseptic products have been authorised under an approval granted by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) under section 19A of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989. Read the statement here.

For those within the foodservice industry who may be concerned about changes to antibacterial hand soap, the FSANZ Food Standard 3.2.1 (Food Safety Program) does not mandate the use of a “plain/ antibacterial/ antimicrobial” handwash. Read the statement here.

At this stage the change is temporary however we do not have a timeframe; we anticipate it may be up to 12 months. Please continue to order as per usual and rest assured of a premium quality product as we have come to expect of GOJO and Purell.
